Details

A beautiful vintage 1950s ivory chiffon peignoir featuring a long, sheer silhouette with soft champagne lace detailing throughout. The bodice is finished with a delicate lace yoke and covered buttons down the center front, while a narrow satin ribbon defines the empire waist for a soft, feminine shape.

The sheer chiffon falls loosely from beneath the bust into a long, flowing silhouette. One of our favorite details is the double-layer bishop sleeves, which create such a pretty airy shape and are finished with wide matching lace cuffs. The combination of ivory chiffon and warm champagne lace gives this piece a romantic, almost bridal feel while still being incredibly easy to style.

Originally designed as a peignoir or dressing gown, this piece would be beautiful worn over a vintage slip, styled open as a sheer layering piece, used for bridal getting-ready, or kept as a special collectible vintage lingerie piece.

Measurements

Measurements reflect approximate body circumference where appropriate.

Waist: 29”
Length: 53”

Best suited for approximately XS–M, depending on desired fit and individual proportions. The sheer, softly draped construction allows for some flexibility in fit. Please refer closely to the measurements, as vintage sizing differs from modern sizing.

Condition

Fair vintage condition. There is an approximately 1” tear to the first layer of chiffon at the shoulder. Because of the double-layer construction, the tear is not very noticeable when worn, but it has been reflected in both the condition rating and price. The lace, chiffon, and overall garment otherwise present beautifully, with additional minor signs of age and wear consistent with a vintage piece.

Please review our Vintage Condition Guide before purchasing.

Materials + Care

Each vintage piece has lived a beautiful life and should be handled with a little extra love. To preserve delicate fabrics and original details, we recommend hand washing in cold water or professionally dry cleaning when appropriate. Always refer to the garment's care label when available.
